Over the 2 years pilot period of the project, NEXTGEN Lawyers – Kenya has been able to have:
young legal professionals working across 5 counties specially trained and involved in legal assistance specifically in mentorship of community paralegals and legal representation.
trained and active community paralegals working across 6 partner organizations offering community based legal assistance to key populations.
supported sensitization forums for duty bearers.
key population members reached to create demand for community based legal services.
clients represented in criminal matters to defend against drug use and sex work related charges.
civil disputes involving sex workers and drug users resolved.
of unlawful detention by law enforcement officers successfully challenged.
supported in acquisition of identification and birth registration documents.
