Our Culture

NEXTGEN Lawyers programming model is centered around legally underserved communities and their needs. “Nothing for us, without us” is our guiding principle in undertaking activities and programs to strenghten community’s abilities to identify their concerns, translate those concerns into actionable issues and find legal solutions that are most impactful.

In an effort to make NEXTGEN Lawyers model more sustainable, our empowerment culture:

  • Acknowledges that the best solution to any problem must involve and be centred on those directly impacted
  • Leverages legal expertise and skills to increase control by clients and communities over their circumstances
  • Discourages doing for a client or group what they can be mentored to do for themselves
